YOU TELL ON YOURSELF

For evry tree is known by its own fruit. Luke 6:44

You can't fool very many people very long. For you tell on yourself. Living on false pretense is a vain pitful gesture. Avoid it. Sooner or later your trur self will come through and be recogvized.

A person-both the wise and the foolish -tell on himself by his words. "The tongue of the wise useth knowledge alright: but the mouth of fools pouerth out foolishness" (Proverbs 1:2)

Also, a person makes himself known by his deeds. "Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be righ" (Proverbs 20:11)

You tell on yourself by the friends you seek,
By the very manner in which you speak,
By the way you employ your leisure time,
By the use you make of dollar and dime.
You tell what you are by the things you wear,
By the spirit in which your budens you bear,
By the kind of things at which you laugh,
By the records you play on the phonograph.
You tell what you are by the way you walk,
By the things of which you delight to talk,
By the manner in which you bear defeat,
By so simple a thing as how you eat.
By the books you choose from the well-filled shelf;
By these ways and more, you tell on yourself;
So there's really no particle of sense
In an effort to keep up false pretense.
And all because a tree is known by its fruits. Sp just be what you really are. If that's not good enough, get busy and improve yourself.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Only those who risk going too far will ever know how far they can go.

TWO BURDENS NO OE CAN BEAR

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

There are two burdens no one can bear-yesterday's and tomorrow's . No person gives way beneath the burdens of today. It's the ones of yesterday and the ones of tomorrow that break us. Too much for any human to bear. The wolves that howled at you yesterday are already gone; and the roaring loins you see for tomorrow nat be only friendly kittens.

One way to elimainate worry from your life is to froget the things which are behind. This was the psychology the apostle Paul followed in his own life. He said:

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Dragging a lengthening chain of regerts from the dead past is like the life of a prisoner with a ball and chain around his ankle.

Another way to prevent ulcer-creating apprehension is to live in the present rather than the future. Fear is the dread of trouble to come and a feeling of inability to hanlle it. But if I admit no evil I cannot surmount, with God's help, then I shall not be afraid as each day dawns.

Thought For Today
Keep your fears to yourself; share your courage with others. It takes a lot of things to prove you are smart, but only one thing to prove you are ignorant.

PRAYER

Lord, help me to grow by the way of surrender. Let me lose my life that I may find it in Thee. Give me power over the world, the flesh, and over all the devils of words or thoughts or deeds. Teach me thy strength; and when the night shall come, may I lie down in peace with tThee.

O Lord, I know not what I am, but to you I flee for refuge. I would surrender myself to you, trusting your precious promise and against hope believing in hope. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever; and therefore, waiting on the Lord, I trust I shall at length renew my strength.

The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless religion. He laughs at our toils, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.

Prayer means that we have come bodly into the throne room and we are standing in His presence. Father God in the name of Jesus, I want to thank you for openign my mind, wisdom, and understanding to your word. Father thank you fro your grace and mercy, pouring your spirit in us. Father whe you knock I will let you in.

REACHING FOR THE BETTER LIFE

Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go to maturuty, not laying the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God. Hebrews 6:1

Here are some noble principles that assure a meaningful and illustrious life:

  • Walk with God. The direction is right. The journey is joyful. And it gives no room to go astray.

  • Be a friend to man. Help those in need. It is bread cast on the water. It always returns.

  • Behave yourself like an adult. Don't whimper like a baby. Don't fuss like a child. Don't quit like an adolescent.

  • Be a watchman on duty. Guard your speech, guard your faith, guard your honor.

  • Treat everbody with respect and courtesy, for each is the image of God.

  • Honor every commitment to God and man. It is better not to vow than to vow and break it.

  • Be an example. People follow better than they take orders.

  • Keep a cool head. Hot heads don't solve problems. Operating with a short fuse makes for a quick explosion.

  • Keep a warm heart. Be tender, sympathetic, kind. A heart thats filled with others is always welcome.

  • Let all that you do be done in love (Corinthians 16:13). When motivated by love, any mistake you may make will be only one of judgment.

Decide what you want, and decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Establish your priorities and go to work.

WHO AM I

Who hath woe? Who hath sorrow? Who hath contenions? Who hath babbling? Who hath wounds without cause? Who hath redness of eyes?... At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an ader. Proverbs 23:29,32

I get man to take me, and then I take the man. I enter lives and chase wisdom out. I am a chief destroyer of homes - murderer - have killed more people that all the wars of the world.

I have done more to destory the human brain than anything else. I produce high's, hangovers and decrease efficiency. I am the undertaker's round-up of business. I have knocked a world of people from the peak, but have never lifted any up. I have turned ambitious, industrious youths into irresponsible bums.

I weaken the strong and destory the weak. I have made unconsionable brutes out of sensitive, high-grade people. I have bankrupted thousands of businesses. I dull the sense of people and give them a don't-care attitude.

I have put many people to work, especially officers of the law. If I were not around, many law enforcement personnel would be out of a job. I am to many people a God they worship daily.

I am something the Bible permits for medicinal purpose (1Timothy 5:23). I am also something of which the Bible severly warns (Proverbs 20:1)

I AM DRUGS AND ALCOHOL!!!!!!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Reputation is what you are perceived to be. Character is what you are!

Make Me Somebody

The highest and most ideal life is one consecrated to God and dedlicated to helping and serving man, expressed by the Psalmist in the prayer which says, "O Lord... make me." It is elevating for a person to have the noble ambition to be somebody and for his life to be useful and helpful. It is uplifting that we, too, have such consummate aims, as follows:

Make me a channel of blessing that flows into the lives of others.
Make me a vessel of salvation to those who stand in need of pardon.
Make me a light that shines in a world darkened by wrong, exploitation and sin.
Make me an ambassador of peace in a world torn by strife and war.
Make me a solider that defends the true and the right.
Make me a tree planted by the rivers of waters that produce good fruit for a morally and spiritually famished society.
Make me a healing balm for the hearts that mourn and break.
Make me an example for those who might not change, if they did have a pattern to follow.
God is ready to help. Are we ready to ask?

Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Psalms 119:35

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
Wisdom only comes with experience and experience only comes with time. It takes a lot of things to prove you are smart, but only one thing to prove you are ignorant.
